VULNERABLE Curatorial Statement

For your consideration, our statement for VULNERABLE:

We plunge deeper and deeper into a disjointed cyber existence. We position ourselves behind screens, behind glass. As we calibrate to a crystallized society, we must somehow remain human. Open, raw, vulnerable. How do we negotiate the tension between our innately vulnerable nature, and the imposition of forced exposure? The hostilities of the world we have created act against us, we have to battle an unwanted vulnerability. Yet we know there is much to be gained from self-directed openness. How do these contradictory forces interact with one another? What are the benefits to being fully exposed?
